I KNOW I have been entirely MIA for the last two months but it’s for a good reason!!! After a year of infertility treatments, my husband and I learned on Christmas Day that we were pregnant due to IVF. Hooray!!!
I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant with our little miracle baby (yes there is just one) and so far its been one heck of a ride. Basically since week 5, I’ve been hunched in a ball on my couch fighting all day nausea and sleepiness. Imagine having to relive a hangover for two months straight and you will kind of understand the feeling of “morning” sickness… or as I like to call it – “All freaking day” sickness.
The random sleeping is also very new to me. I’m the type of gal who gets a solid 6-8 hours of sleep a night and on occasion will take a 20 minute power nap. Now – I’ve been known to throw on my gym shoes and pass out for three hours while tying my laces. Or sleeping until 3:30 in the afternoon (on rare occasions). But as everyone says – it’s all worth it.
We just had our 12 week ultrasound and it was so exciting to see baby moving like a little worm (or kicking me aggressively) and waving “hello” from inside. Our due date is September 3, 2016 and we have a LOT to do before then. We’re in the process of building a home and selling our downtown Chicago condo. Hopefully that will all be done in May so I will have a few months to nest and prepare for this new whirlwind coming our way.
