Elevate Your Bodyweight Training + Trunk Club Giveaway

how to do bodyweight jumps

Today I am bringing you an awesome HIIT bodyweight workout + a gift card giveaway to Trunk Club (at the bottom of this post).

2017 is bringing us all kinds of new fitness trends including dance cardio, boxing, HIIT, and bodyweight training. Today – I am going to mix two of those trends to bring you guys one heck of a workout. The best part? You don’t need any equipment.

I’m talking about HIIT Bodyweight training. If you don’t already know, “HIIT” stands for high intensity interval training. It burns crazy calories in a short period of time by doing an exercise full out for a short duration and taking a quick rest. Bodyweight training is also great for many reasons. Mainly because you can do the workout anywhere – but bodyweight exercises also are great for building lean muscle mass. There’s also like a million variations to try so you won’t get bored. Check out 11 different pushup variations here.

So why combine the two? It’s pretty much a no brainer. You will be able to get in a quick intense workout while burning calories AND building muscle.

THE WORKOUT

This workout is going to use and challenge your whole body. You will need a jump rope and a bench or box (for an ultimate workout). If you don’t have either of those handy no big deal – you will be able to just mock jump rope and do air jumps.

There are 5 exercises in this circuit and one bonus movement. You’ll do jump ropes, squat jumps, pushups, box jumps, and burpees. If you know how to do a handstand pushup you can also incorporate those as your BONUS movement.

Each movement will be done for 40 seconds straight and then you’ll get a 20 second break. Once you’ve completed all 5 movements you’ll rest for 60 seconds and then repeat the circuit 3 more times for a total of 4 times through. The workout should take you about 25 minutes in total.

Make sure to wear good shoes and breathable clothes (more about this below).

STAY ON TRACK

Try downloading an interval timer on your smart phone or picking up a stop watch to keep yourself on track and moving. Don’t turn your 20 second breaks into 2 minute breaks. The whole point of this workout is to keep moving. It should feel challenging! I bet if you did this workout once a week in a few weeks it would get easier.

TRUNK CLUB GIVEAWAY

Okay – now on to the giveaway! I am so excited to be partnering up with my stylist, Tom Ballentine from Trunk Club to give away three $50 gift certificates. If you have never heard of Trunk Club – they are a styling service for both men and women. There are two ways to use them – 1. Have a hand selected box of clothes sent to try on in the comfort of your own home, or 2. Visit one of their clubhouses in person (there’s one downtown Chicago)!

I used to actually work at Trunk Club before switching careers to be a personal trainer. At that time, they only did mens clothing. I totally missed out on the perks! Now, they do both mens and women’s clothing, including active wear! The awesome outfit I’m wearing in this post was picked out for me by Tom. The top is a very comfortable pullover by Zella ($59) and the pants are also by Zella ($65). They work with a wide variety of well-known brands like Top Shop and Free People and they also have some really cool unique brands you’ve never heard of.

Trunk Club Workout Clothes

Since having a baby – it is impossible for me to get to a store to try on workout clothes. I literally requested a trunk and two days later a huge variety showed up on my doorstep. I seriously kept 6 pairs of leggings, 3 tops and a new pair of Nike shoes. The styling service is completely free but there is a small $25 deposit towards your trunk purchase.

The giveaway starts today and ends Friday evening. We will be drawing one winner each day for 3 days! To enter -first you’ll have to create a stylist profile with Trunk Club (important – must use this link to enter raffle). **offer excludes current Trunk Club members

Then, you’ll need to enter your name into the raffle below. You can earn extra entries by sharing this blog post on social media or by subscribing to my blog mailing list.
